Dear Margot;
the failure of the EU-constitition in France and Holland depends on the simple fact that it is not a constitution but a political manifesto and a catalogue of politicial correctness, demands and issues concerning our problems of today; it is pure politics and not a constitution. For example, why should the Same-people in northern Sweden have a passage in the EU-constitution which for ever give them the rigtht to cultivate reindeer and no one else; if an englighsmen will waste his time cultivating reindeer in Sweden that will be forbidden according to the EU-constitution. This is madness.
Small causes, big consequenses. You will not hear and You will not see when the tsunami starts and when it is on the way against You. You se it when the wawes break up on the shores, 20 meters high. Now the have reached Bryssels.
Have You, Margot, contemplated on Your own speach in Theresienstadt when You said that the only thing between Europe and a new holocaust was the Eu-constitution - I think that was the beginning of the tsunami, that last little peace that started everything who in any way was under way, but You light the match. You may have get it happen faster.
Jag skulle ha lagt till en sak ehuru jag glömde det i hastigheten, nämligen den feghet och anpasslighet in absurdum som präglar eu-kommissionen och konstitutionen när den inte kan erkänna vår kristna tradition och ta med den i den grundläggande portalparagrafen - utan ett erkännande av de kristna värdena blir Europas historia obegriplig - den är 2000-årig och har präglat allt Europa företagit sig, på gott och på ont. Vi kan inte förstås som europeer utan att erkänna denna tradition : den myllrande medeltiden, katedralerna, renässansen, de stora målarna, Kopernikus, Leibnitz, Samuel Johnson, Shakespeare. Ett Europa utan grundläggande kristna värden inskrivna i vårt gemensamma manifest inför världen blir inte ett bra hem för någon som helst annan religion; det är genom att bejaka vårt värdearv som vi kan inkludera och välkomna andra religioner och folk : de behöver inte känna fruktan för oss, och vi inte för dem - vi vet var vi har varandra och kan leva fridfullt tillsammans.
